Privacy Policy

Effective 14 June 2026

This policy explains what personal data JEE Oxygen collects, why we collect it, how we protect it, and the rights you have over it. We've written it in plain language. It is specific to India and follows the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (the “DPDP Act”).

01Who we are

JEE Oxygen is a JEE diagnostic and practice product built and operated by the Being IITian Team (“JEE Oxygen”, “we”, “us”, “our”). For the purposes of the DPDP Act, we are the Data Fiduciary responsible for the personal data described in this policy. You can reach us — including our Grievance Officer — at team@beingiitianofficial.com.

02Scope & your consent

This policy applies to jeeoxygen.com and the JEE Oxygen application. By creating an account, signing in, or otherwise using the service, you consent to the collection and use of your personal data as described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

03What we collect

We collect only what we need to run JEE Oxygen and give you your reports:

  • Account data — your name, email address and profile photo, received from the Google account you sign in with.
  • Profile data — details you choose to provide: full name, gender, date of birth, phone number, Telegram username, country, state, city, PIN code, class, board, target year, target exam, mode of preparation, and how you heard about us.
  • Activity data — the tests you take and how you take them: your answers, time spent per question, navigation and revisits, scores, and the diagnostic results we derive from them.
  • Technical data — collected automatically: device and browser type, IP address, and basic logs, used to operate and secure the service.
  • Communications — any messages or requests you send us.
04Why we use it, and our legal basis

We use your personal data to:

  • provide the service — generate your diagnostic reports, personalise your practice, and run your account;
  • improve the product, diagnose problems, and develop new features;
  • keep the platform secure and prevent fraud, cheating or misuse;
  • communicate with you about your account and important changes.

We process your data on the basis of your consent under the DPDP Act, and as necessary to provide the service you have asked for. You may withdraw consent at any time (see “Your rights”), though some processing is essential for the service to function.

05Children & minors

JEE Oxygen is used by students preparing for JEE, many of whom are under 18 and are “children” under the DPDP Act. We take this seriously:

  • If you are under 18, you may use JEE Oxygen only with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian. By using the service, you confirm that such consent has been given.
  • We do not knowingly process a child’s personal data without verifiable parental consent.
  • We do not carry out tracking, behavioural monitoring, or targeted advertising directed at children.
  • A parent or guardian may contact us at any time to review, correct, or delete their child’s data.

If you believe a child has provided us data without the required consent, please contact us and we will take appropriate action.

06How we share your data

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for third-party advertising. We share data only with:

  • Service providers (Data Processors) who help us operate the product, under contract and only as needed — including Google (sign-in / authentication) and our cloud database and website-hosting providers (to store your data and serve the site).
  • Legal & safety — where required by law, or to establish, exercise or defend legal rights, or to protect the safety of our users or the public.
  • Business transfer — if the product is merged with or transferred to another entity, your data may transfer with it, subject to this policy.
07Where it’s stored & how long we keep it

Your data is stored on managed, reputable cloud infrastructure. Some of our providers may process or store data outside India; where that happens, we take steps for it to be handled consistently with this policy and applicable law.

We keep your personal data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service. When it is no longer required — or if you ask us to delete it — we delete or anonymise it within a reasonable period, unless a longer period is required by law.

08How we protect it

We use database-level row security so you can only ever access your own data, encryption in transit (HTTPS), and access controls that limit internal access to what is necessary. No system is completely secure, but we work hard to protect your data, and in the event of a significant personal-data breach we will notify you and the Data Protection Board of India as required by law.

09Your rights

Under the DPDP Act you have the right to:

  • Access — obtain a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how we process it.
  • Correction & updating — correct inaccurate or incomplete data (you can edit most of your profile any time from your account).
  • Erasure — ask us to delete your personal data.
  • Withdraw consent — at any time, for future processing.
  • Grievance redressal — have your complaint addressed by us before approaching the Data Protection Board of India.
  • Nominate — nominate another person to exercise your rights in the event of your death or incapacity.

To exercise any of these, email us at team@beingiitianofficial.com. We will verify your identity and respond within the timelines applicable under law.

10Cookies & similar technologies

We use only the cookies and local storage needed to keep you signed in and to run the site securely. We do not use them for third-party advertising or cross-site tracking.

11Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the revised version here with a new effective date, and for significant changes we will give you reasonable notice.

12Contact & Grievance Officer

For any question, request, or complaint about your personal data — or to reach our Grievance Officer — contact us at team@beingiitianofficial.com. We will acknowledge and work to resolve grievances within the timelines required by Indian law.
